Home!

I have to make this super short because I'm about to go to the grocery store with my mom! It's been pretty busy the last couple of days! During movie night I got this yummy chocolate chip cookie from Shields Market!
Then for lunch yesterday I went to Mai Sushi with Maggie and Sara. I got a philly roll and a fried oyster roll- haha i couldn't resist trying it and it was really good!
Then I loaded up a bunch of stuff in my car and made another wrap- this one had cheddar, tomatoes, sprouts, and asiago.
Then I headed to class for forever! I got home around 11:30 last night and then unloaded my car this morning!

hahaha also waiting in the mail for me was barney butter samples! I can't wait to try them!
Well I'm off to buy lots of stuff so that I can make lots of fun stuff while I'm at home! Rachel and I are having a baking extravaganza so be prepared for that haha!

Blah Day!

Today has been such a blah day!!!! Last night I discovered that Hulu has movies! So I went through all of them and made a list of ones I wanted to watch and then watched a movie and ended up falling asleep around 2ish lol. Also Kylin gave me this last night that she found when she was cleaning her room!
So I snacked on one of the cookies and the peppermint stick last night! So this morning I slept until noon then woke up and caught up on blogs and facebook! Then I took a shower and made lunch. I used my new spinach wraps topped with some goat cheese brie, sprouts, tomatoes, and some sliced asiago. I warmed it up in the microwave and then attempted to wrap it, however it wouldn't stay unless I was holding it shut because it was so full. So I took a picture of it unwrapped so you could see everything inside of it!

Then I basically sat around working on random homework and not doing much of anything. Before I knew it it was time for my ethics class. We discuessed Nickle and Dimed (horrible book I do not recomend it). We got out of class early so I stopped by the UPS store to return my verizon box since we have now changed it all into Megan's name since I won't be here next semester! Then I came home and made dinner!! I had some bunny butts! (annie's mac and cheese haha) It was the alfredo kind which I had never had before and it was really good! We didn't have any milk and I'm all out of plain yogurt so instead I used some sour cream and a tiny bit of mayo. I also added some chopped tomatos which gave it some liquid too. Then I topped it with a slice of the asiago cheese that I got from trader joes yesterday! It turned out much better then I was expecting and I think next time I make this I'm going to try it with plain yogurt. It says it on the box but I usually always just use milk, but I really liked it with the sour cream and I think the yogurt would be really good too.
Then for dessert I snacked on a bit of this awesome chocolate!
I've been working a little on my take home test for my tutoring class and I'm almost done with that so I think I will definitly finish it tonight. In a bit I'm heading over to Jonathan and Lars's apartment for another movie night! yay two weeks in a row! I'm glad that we are getting movie night going again this semester even if it is almost over! Then tomorrow I'm probably going to be packing and loading up my car most of the day so I can head straight home after my classes! I've got all my winter clothes and books that I don't need in the trunk and in my room I'm packing away all my dvds and other school stuff. Everything is packed either in scholastic boxes or Whole Foods bags (and now also some Trader Joes). Then I can unload everything at home and use the boxes and bags again to pack up more stuff! Hopefully when the end of the month comes I'll have most everything except my furtniture moved home so there won't be too much stuff to move!

Trader Joes!!!

Happy Palm Sunday everyone! This morning I went to Commonwealth Chapel for the first time in forever because I am hardly ever in Richmond on the weekends! And it was really fun because everyone that usually comes off and on came and we packed 6 people into Grace's car! So on the way to church I snacked on a Key Lime Larabar- probably my favorite kind!

Then after church Melony swiped all of us into Shafer hahaha! I was excited for free food until we got there and I remember how gross Shafer is! Especially on Sunday's they have "brunch" food so basically at the station that changes out food they just had eggs sausage and bacon- well last time I ate Shafer eggs I got pretty sick so I was not about to do that again! Then there was the hamburger station that just had greasy gross hamburgers that looked like they had been sitting out for hours! I decided against that too! So I went to the Vegan bar and made a semi wrap, they only had super tiny wraps so it ended up being more like a taco since i couldn't actually wrap it! I put on some hummus and sprouts and lettuce and tomatoes. They really didn't have much else to put on it but it was pretty good even though it was kind of boring! I also had an orange on the side that took more effort to attempt to peel and segment apart then it was worth.

After Shafer I took a much needed nap!! When I woke up I snacked on a Vermont Sharp White Cheddar cheese stick and then worked on some of this take home midterm for my tutoring class and started writing some fake journal entries for my ethics class since my teacher decided she wanted to look at our journals that we have supposedly been keeping haha. Then when Kylin came home we went to Trader Joes! It was so exciting and I bought way more then I should have but I only spent $30!!!! So when I came home I had the teriyaki shiitake mushroom sushi that I got from TJs! It was pretty much amazing!
And for dessert I of course had a so delicious ice cream sandwich!
I think now I'm going to work on my take home test a little more! I think I'm going to try and finish it before I go home on Tuesday for Easter so I don't have to bring it with me since I have enough other things to do that week! Also the more work I get done before I go home the more time I have to bake all sorts of fun things! I've realized that my tagline at the top of my blog says I love to cook but I hardly ever cook things! Most of my posts are food from restaurants or real quick fix things! Well when I'm in Richmond I really don't have the time or money to cook as much plus I know that I won't eat all of it! When I go home my mom gives me her credit card and tells me to go to the store and buy stuff to cook for the family so you should all be very excited to see all the fun things I'm planning on making later this week!

Stupid Bloody Dog

Alright so due to Corbin's injury Maggie and I have not gotten to do anything very exciting this weekend! What could have been a fun weekend of dog parks and Belle Isle turned into a bloody mess!!! hahaha Everytime we think Corbin is fine he does something stupid like jump on his bad foot and the bleeding starts all over again! So anyways last night for dinner I tried the Amy's Lentil Vegetable soup. I had high hopes after that awesomeness that was the Cunky Tomato Bisque, however this one failed to live up to those expectations. It wasn't awful but it wasn't great either. I probably wouldn't buy it again (i'll stick to that chunky tomato bisque hahaha)
So after dinner we decided that we could leave Corbin alone long enough to go see Slumdog Millionaire at the Byrd. We stopped by Galaxy Diner and got some of their amazing milkshakes. I got a strawberry oreo one!
Then we waited in line forever bc we were super early (however we were not the only people in line!). The movie was pretty good, not like I would buy it good but I would watch it again if someone else had it and a group of people were watching it. It was definitly a sad story and I think I like happy movies better! I like to escape reality where things like that can actually happen and pretend like I'm in a better place (like in a musical where everyone sings all the time or surrounded by vegetarian vampires).

So this morning (or almost afternoon) I woke up and snacked on this yogurt.
Again, this yogurt is way to thin for me but the flavor is so good!!!! I wish I could get greek yogurt in fun flavors like this! I was suppose to go to lunch with Ashley and Courtney however we had to reschedule because Ashley was out bridesmaid dress shopping with Amy! So for lunch I had some nice unhealthy Chef Boyardee beefaronis lol. And Megan told me to top it with some shredded cheddar and I tried that and it was really good too!!!
After that I had to have a Russle Stover Maple Cream Egg for dessert!
The rest of the afternoon was been pretty low key! I did some yoga and finished reading Nickle and Dimed for my ethics class. It was not a good book and I don't recomend it! It was about this middle class journalist lady who went undercover to work low wage jobs and live in low cost housing. However she always had her emergency $1,000 back up and she walked out on all her jobs when she got fed up with them! It was ridiculous!

So for dinner I ate the last of that salmon chowder and an orange. I didn't really think it was necessary to take a picture since there have been several other pictures in the past hahaha. I also had a vitabrownie for dessert hahaha.

Now I'm sitting with Megan and Bethany watching Twilight special features until Rob gets off work and then we are going to go over there and watch Marley and Me! I hope everyone else is having a great weekend!

Maggie is Awesome!

Do you guys love my new awesome format of my blog! Maggie is the most amazing person ever! She made my banner at the top and then formatted my blog so it would be pretty! yay!!!!

So last we played High School Musical 3 Sing it and I have to say it was probably the best spent $25 ever (yes I bought it on ebay for only $25 microphone included haha). I also love how you can see Twilight in the background- we didn't watch it last night but high school musical and twilight pretty much sum up our weekends!

So after some intense singing we finally went to bed around 1:45 hahaha. This morning I slept in until 11:30ish and then had some yogurt for breakfast! I love the So Delicious Coconut Milk ice cream so much that I had to try the yogurt. It was okay, it was really thick but I think that I'm not a big fan of the chocolate yogurt. I am definitely going to have to try this in another flavor.
Then for lunch I had this Annie Chun's Udon Soup Bowl! It was pretty good, it wasn't as flavorful as some of the soup or noodle bowls but I would probably buy it again.
After lunch Corbin was running around outside trying to chase Brandy- Maggie's Aunt's dog that she is watching for the week. Either Corbin or the wind knocked over the trash can that had a glass bottle sitting on top of it. Corbin being the smart dog that he is ran all through the glass so he could try and eat the stuff that spilled. He cut his paw and was bleeding so we put some gauze on it and wrapped it up. Well he bled through that and then we put more gauze over the wrap and then tapped it. It seems to be holding for now but he is not too happy about it!
So I'm not sure what we are up to for dinner or for the rest of the night but I'm sure there will be some more High School Musical Sing It!

Also I got Jenna's Dessert E-Cookbook and I have to say it looks pretty awesome! I can't wait to try out some of the recipes, especially Ashley's Maple Almond Butter Cookies- I think I will be making those when I go home next week for Easter! If you haven't bought her cookbook yet you should- all the money is going to a great cause and you get this awesome 85 page cookbook full of delicious desserts!

Also there is a free e-cookbook that Spark People Sent out today with 10 recipes for less than $10 they wanted people to send it along to their friends so here you go!

ER!

The series finale of ER is on now!!! ahhhh I love ER! Right now they are doing like a look back on the 500 seasons of ER hahaha.

So anyway as promised here is the leftovers of my Bodillaz that I had for dinner last night. Covered in sour cream hahhaa. I can't remember if I said this in my other post but you get to pick your tortilla they have spinach (thats what I got), sundried tomato (thats prob what I would try next time!), and then normal white and wheat ones. After dinner I snacked on my mini coconut milk ice cream sandwich. I think these things are the most amazing thing everThen for lunch this morning I had a mismatch of leftovers! I had some more salmon chowder that I pulled out of the freezer and half of my egg salad sandwich that I didn't' eat for dinner when we went to Bodillaz. Then I also had an apple with almond butter! While I was making my lunch the water heater guy came to fix our hot water! yay! While he was working it wasn't sounding good but then he finally got it working! yay we have hot water again! Anyways most of the day today I worked on my paper (I think its finished!) and I packed up some stuff to take home next weekend. I packed up my winter clothes, all my scholastic books that I'm not using in this last month of tutoring, and all my old books and binders from classes. hahaha its funny because in the trunk of my car is my ginormous pink suitcase and then lots of scholastic boxes and whole foods bags filled to the brink haahha!

So for dinner tonight i tried this Amy's Chunky Tomato Bisque. Oh my gosh this is the best tomato soup I've ever had! It was sweet and tangy with chunks of tomato and it is probably my new favorite canned soup ever! I also had the last of my wheat thins and the garlic and herb cheese from the beach! It was an amazing dinner! After dinner I headed over to Maggie's for the ER series finale!!!! yay and then once its over we are going to play High School Musical 3 Sing it! hahaah I'm pretty excited!

Also if you love to bake like me then you should head over to EatLiveRun. Jenna has put together a dessert e-cookbook that you can get for a $10 donation to her Team Training for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's. I haven't gotten mine yet because I have to wait until I get money tomorrow ( I currently have about $5 in my bank account haha) but as soon as that money shows up in my bank account and I get it I will let you know about how awesome it is!

Richmond Whole Foods

So yesterday Maggie and I went to Whole Foods in Short Pump! It was my first time visiting this one and I have to say I was very impressed! The hot bar was much much better than the one in Fairfax! I definitely overloaded on stuff from there and a couple things from the cold bars too. I got a mushroom quesadilla, tabouli, moussaka, some sort of dumpling thing, and some sort of artichoke thing hahaha. It was all really good but the mushroom quesadilla was probably the start of the entire thing. It was so good! I ended up eating only half of it though because my eyes were bigger than my stomach, so I brought the rest home to eat later!

And I got a strawberry koombucha to drink! It was really good I like the strawberry one better than the raspberry one. When I got home I made some egg salad so I could make a sandwich to bring to eat in between my 2 night classes.
However I ended up not eating this because I went Erica, Jamie, and Danielle to Bodillaz in between classes. What is Bodillaz you might ask, well as Erica says it is like subway for quesadillas! hahha and it was! You order your basic quesadilla and then you tell them what kind of cheese and vegetables you want. I got a steak one with the mix of their cheese and with tomatoes and onions. It was really good but also huge. So I didn't take a picture then but I have the leftovers to eat tonight and I will take a picture of them for you!

When I got back from classes I busted out one of my new Whole Food purchases to try! So Delicious mini ice cream sandwiches made with coconut milk ice cream. Umm this was probably the most amazing ice cream sandwich I have ever had. I can't get enough of this So Delicious coconut milk ice cream, it never disappoints me.
Then I also had to try a tiny piece of these chocolate. It is dark chocolate with crystallized ginger in it which sounded absolutely delicious and I just had to see what it tasted like. It was really good but I wish it had a little bit more ginger in it.
So this morning I went and tutored and then we had our midterm during the second half of class, even though the middle of the semester was like a month ago. Next week is Henrico's spring break so that means no tutoring class since there will be no kids there to tutor! yay I love how I get 1 and a half spring breaks this semester. So next week I can sleep in every day and I only have to go to class Monday and Tuesday night! Then I can head home Tuesday night for a nice long Easter weekend!

Anyways when I got back from class I ate my leftovers from Whole Foods and then snacked on one of these cookies that I bought yesterday. umm Double Fudge Brownie?!?! They were so good hahaha.
So now it is my weekend! And I really need to work on this paper that is due Tuesday. So I guess now that I have blogged as a form of procrastination I should probably get started on that.

Oh and I almost forgot to tell you about two contests going on in the food blog world!
